Arapuru, the bird with a magical song from the Amazon rainforest

We are inspired by an Indigenous legend from northern Brazil, which says that whoever hears Arapuru's song will be blessed with good fortune and have their wish fulfilled.

This legend comes from how rare it is to hear the song of this special bird, since it only happens during a 15-to-20-day period each year while the nest is being prepared.

The Arapuru bird, also called Uirapuru, is a symbol of happiness and joy in the Amazon.

Rob Dorsett, our master distiller

The magic of distillation was taught to us by a true master distiller, Rob Dorsett, the Englishman behind award-winning gins such as Martin Miller’s, Botanist, and Sipsmith.

He shared with us his long tradition of infusing botanicals in small batches using a copper still.

Erik Lorincz, our ambassador

Erik Lorincz became fascinated by Brazilian culture and biodiversity when he first visited us in early 2013. He joined our creative process, helping ensure our gin translated Brazil's essence into cocktails.

Winner of Diageo World Class 2010, Erik came to São Paulo in 2016 to launch Arapuru in the Brazilian market and taught 10 original recipes in an exclusive masterclass for Brazilian bartenders.
